This was the first birthday for Brian in our new house and as Man and wife.
i felt i needed to step up my game. So i coordinated with His mom and a few others to make the theme a surprise. It was based off the main gift which was Super Mario Maker, a game where you can build a Mario level and have others around the world play it, share it, and rate it.
First, i arranged a “slumber party” with His bestie. The night before we all hung out, play games like Fun Employed and Back in Bowl. They all drank but i did not.
Then, lets cover the invites. They went out 2 weeks in advance.
The decor was perfect thanks to the game and all the Marios being so popular.
And, the very generously given gifts. He did love His new shirts, this was just a bad picture of it ;p ANNND, that beat up box was from birthday fairy “Barnubus”, cousin to Alfie the Elf that comes on Christmas.
i think i accomplished my goal of throwing the best theme surprise birthday. Man, whew, it was a lotta work keeping that secret… i think i was more excited than He was!
He did love His new game and made a bunch of levels. So happy He was happy.
