Our first Thanksgiving was awful. The family was there and that part was wonderful.
The next day they called and said that only 3 fertilized properly. We were shocked. So were they. They wanted to do another harvest. We could not afford to do another harvest so soon. We needed to wait to find out on day 3 if they made it.
What made the day so miserable was that i was in so much pain due to the harvest the day before, i had to work, and… we found out that only 3 fertilized.
After our Thanksgiving supper, we went home and slept and did nothing. Feeling depressed and dejected at the same time.
On day three they called and they told us that none made it to day 3. Brian talked to the doctor and they said they wanted to do another harvest the next cycle. He told them that we could not because we did not have the financial means. They told Him they they would cover the cost of everything but the medication and the anesthesia.
We were stunned that they offered this to us and decided to take it. They did tell us that we had to wait until after the holidays because the office is does not do any harvests or transfers during the month of December so that the nurses and staff can spend the holidays with their families.
