Surgery for Sam

Over Valentines weekend Sammie, our pittie, hurt her hind leg and started limping. She would get better on and off and did not whine or whimper about it. With the preparation of moving across country, we decided that if she still was limping when we moved we would get it checked out.

We sawl a vet on April 13th and come to find out she tore her ACL and needed surgery on April 29th to re-attach it. The vet was pretty impressed that she allowed him to even move the leg without yelping.

So a lot of money later, Sammie now has surgical fishing wire as a make-shift ACL. You can see the incision on her back knee in this picture.

She did not react well to the pain meds and they put the bandage on too tight for the pain patch so she refused to eat for like 3 days. She barely drank too.

It took her about a month but she started using her leg again. Now, months later, you cannot tell that there was ever a problem!

all better

And she loves to lounge all day with me while i work.
