Our First and Only House

We moved into our newly built house over July 4th weekend. i still cannot believe that we own a house. i have moved so much and all over because i tend to not like being in one place for too long. i mean, i went to 11 different schools from pre-k to 12th grade. In my adult life i carried on that tradition and did not stay in one house/apartment longer than 2 years…well 18 months to be more specific. i like moving. New places, new scenery, etc. However, i always told myself that “IF i ever bought a house, it would be the house i would die in.” So, that means we are never moving again!

The house is beautiful…hard wood floors on the main floor, 4 spacious bedrooms, a formal dining room that we will use as the kids’ toy room, 2.5 bathrooms, a first floor laundry room and a basement. A BASEMENT!

There were a few things that i did not realize were not included when the house was built. One of those things was toilet paper holders. They were included in the house when my mom and dad both bought houses in the 90’s in Vegas.

It took me only about a week to get all the rooms unpacked but the “man cave”/office upstairs. Brian had to be there to help me with that one because that was His space.

After about a week and a half, we had this conversation:

Brian: “What colors are you thinking of painting the rooms?”
me: “i dont think i want to pick colors yet. It doesnt feel like mine…” Brian: “Really!?”
me: “Yea, i probably wont want to paint for like three years.”
Brian: “Works for me.”

That feeling did not last long. About a month later, i was ready to pick out colors. Here are some pics of the new house.
